What affects the cost of an audiobook
Length
Narrators are paid per finished hour. Roughly 9,000–10,000 words make one finished hour of audio.
Number of characters
Distinct character voices and accents take more preparation and studio time.
One voice or several
A single narrator costs least; dual or multi-voice casts add a narrator fee for each voice.
Music and sound
Intro music and sound design are optional extras, included in Multi-Voice.
Your own voice
Narrating it yourself removes the narrator fee; coaching and post-production are quoted separately.
