About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to services you buy from Heritage Publishing. Each project also has a written agreement setting out the scope, price, timeline and payment schedule; if it differs from these terms, the project agreement applies.

Quotes and prices

Prices on this website are starting prices in US dollars. Your fixed price is confirmed in writing before work begins. Third-party costs such as ISBNs you choose to buy, printing, shipping and advertising spend are extra unless your agreement says otherwise.

Payments

Projects are paid in milestones: a deposit to start, then stages as chapters and audio are approved, as set out in your agreement. Work pauses if a milestone payment is overdue.

Your content and ownership

You confirm you have the right to share the material you give us. When the project is paid in full, all copyright in the finished book, cover and audiobook we create for you transfers to you, and only your name appears as author. You receive 100% of royalties paid by publishing platforms.

Revisions and approvals

Each package includes the revision rounds described for it. You approve chapters as they are delivered; approved chapters are final unless you order further changes.

Timelines

Timelines are estimates and depend on prompt feedback and approvals. There is no deadline for you to start or finish — we work at your pace.

Publishing platforms

Books are published on accounts in your name. Amazon, Audible/ACX, Apple, Kobo, Google Play, IngramSpark and other platforms make their own decisions on approvals, listings, pricing rules and payouts. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

No guarantee of results

We guarantee the work described in your package. We do not guarantee sales, rankings, reviews, awards or media coverage.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel at any time by email. You pay for work completed up to the cancellation date and receive the work produced so far. Refunds of unused prepaid amounts are made as set out in your project agreement.

Confidentiality

We keep your project confidential, sign an NDA before your first story session, and never share your work without written permission.

Liability

Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. We're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits.
